Mt. Carmel Connector

WELCOME
This Blog has been created to provide key information regarding the urgent need for Sound Barriers on the Route 40 Connector. We all should be concerned about the increasing traffic and noise emitting from this "speedway" which runs through our "existing neighborhood".  You should be especially alarmed about the Mt. Carmel Connector today because:
  • The new Yale-New Haven Epic Medical Center will be located by the entrance and exit of the Route 40 Connector (State Street Hartford Tpke, and Devine St.) making this route a major highway which will service northern CT.
  • Quinnipiac University (which was a small college when this connector was built) will continue to expand into the Hamden and North Haven area. This traffic increases yearly on the connector.
Why we need your support - Did you know that Sen. Fasano wanted to put up sound barriers on the Merrit Parkway near his home(a existing pkwy in which houses were built around -unlike the Route 40 connector!)? DOT refuses to address the facts about that the continuous changes in the use of connector warrants sound barriers. Selectman Freda and Yale-NH hospital are aware of the importance of the connector is for their location.Yale-NH Hospital, DOT and the Town of North Haven have not or will not address this issue.

Please read my email correspondences with the DOT, Senator and Selectman about this situation: click link below - http://theconnectornh.blogspot.com/p/senatordotfredaemails.html

Do you want ambulances racing up and down the connector? Our town officials are still pushing to have full a emergency facility at this location:
